Blog 1 - Initial Ideas

We created two mind maps to visulaise our teaser tailer. The different aspects we looked at are: Camera shots and angles, the plot, the genre, sound, techniques and styles of trailers and also generic conventions. In addition, we went on the teaser trailer website in order to ensure we did some research before we planned our own teaser trailer. Having looked at examplar teaser trailers, we identified what we liked about it and have contemplated about using simialr techniques of editing, camera angles and shots. The concept of our teaser trailer is based on a true story, which has real life horror elements to it, which we believed we could manipulate into a really successful marketing film product. The main character is in his late 20's  he has been sectioned in a mental hospital just outside of london, where by which he stays rotting for many years, moreover he is being experimented on and pursues to escape the hospital but first he must take revenge on those who treated him like an experiment, so we follow a revengeful characters path to escape and freedom. The sub-genre that we are working with is crime horror. We have chosen to work within these conventions, as we find it very intriguing and exciting to be able to produce a teaser trailer. We want to keep our teaser trailer simple, but effective and also because horror films have an impact on audiences that watch films, than other genres that exist. The purpose of a teaser trailer is to persuade our targeted audience to watch the movie. There are a number of techniques used to employ this. In our teaser trailer, we will be building up tension and suspense, by not giving away too much of the plot, to engage the audience. We plane to create a mystery villan that has been exploited and forced to kill. we have gathered our initial ideas on paper and on mind maps, identifying our aims and targets on paper first will also be a productive step, as it will allow us to follow our ideas on we clearly use them to be able to create a teaser trailer.
